  • Note : Never POWER OFF your router when the firmware is upgrading. Do not close the browser windows while the FIRMWARE is downloading. Make sure you have an Ethernet connection whilst upgrading your router firmware.

  • My last password inputted during the initial setup had not changed; yet it is not accepted while trying to update the filmware’s procedure. I used your procedure of inputting my router’s serial number and it is not accepted, despite verifying it many times on my router.

    Secondly, I find it very annoying in accepting your login procedure (routerlogin.net) where many vendors state, Enter Here to Start in order to get into the actual login screen. Pls explain.

  • If you want to upgrade the firmware of NetGear manually , so these are some steps who’s Help in to upgrade the firmware of NetGear . Follow these Steps –
    1. Download the firmware for your router from the NETGEAR Download Center, save it to your desktop, and unzip the file if needed.
    2. Using a computer that is connected to your router via an Ethernet cable (wired), click a web browser from a computer.
    3. Do not use a computer that is connected wirelessly to the router
    4. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
    5. Enter the router user name and password. The user name is admin and the default password is password. The user name and password are sensitive.
    6. Select ADVANCED > Administration.
    7. Click the Firmware Update or Router Update button.
    8. Click Choose File or Browse.
    9. Locate and highlight the saved firmware on your desktop and click Open > Upload
    10. Your router reboots after the firmware is uploaded. If your router does not reboot, check the Router Status page to confirm whether the new firmware version uploaded.
