Have you purchased a Belkin router and want to set it up? To setup the Belkin router, you need the login details of the router. The Belkin router login screen is password protected like other company’s router login screen. To access the login page of the Belkin router, see the steps given below:
Launch an Internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. In the address bar of the browser window, type http://192.168.2.1 and press enter. This is the default IP address to access the Belkin router’s Basic Home page.
A login screen displays. It has two fields named username and password. Enter the default username and password. The default credentials depend on the model of the router you have purchased.
Default username can be admin, Admin or leave the field blank.
You can have an idea from above that some Belkin routers use admin as username, some use Admin and others can have the username field blank. And same is the case with the password of the Belkin router.
You can see the default username and password for your router model on its product label. The product label is located at the bottom of your router.
It is suggested to change the default credentials as soon as you logged into the administrative settings of your router. Because it is very easy for someone else to access your network by using the default credentials. Close the Belkin router login screen as soon as you have made all the changes.
If you are unable to log in by using the username and password given above then someone else has changed it. Ask your family members about it else reset your router to default factory settings. Edimax and SMC Networks are two other companies using the same IP address as used by Belkin to access the configuration window. But their usernames and passwords are different.
What to do if you are not able to access the Home page with the default username and password?
If you are not able to login into the Belkin router by using the above-mentioned usernames and passwords then it might be the case that someone in your home has changed the password after setting up the Belkin router. You have to ask your family members, if you can find the password by doing so then it’s great. Otherwise, this situation can be handled by resetting your router.
To reset your Belkin router, follow the steps given below.
Locate the Reset button on your router. The reset button is usually located on the back of the router and near to the Internet ports. It is a small hole so you might get problem while finding it.
After you found the reset hole, take a small pin or paper clip. Put the paper clip inside that hole and hold it there for 30 to 60 seconds.
Now, you are able to login to the Configuration page through Belkin router login page. Please take into consideration that when you reset your router, other changes that you have made to the router like port forwarding, network name and password also set to their default value along with the login details.
