It is advised to regularly update the child nodes firmware on your Linkys Velop system to keep the wifi features updated and fix any issues related to the performance. You can upgrade the Velop system using the ways given below:

Upgrade using the Linksys app

  • Start by launching the Linksys app on your mobile device.
  • You can log in to the Velop dashboard.
  • On the upper-left side of the screen, tap on the menu button.
  • Then click on the Network Administration.
  • You will see that by default the Automatic Firmware Upgrade feature is enabled. It will upgrade the firmware whenever a new version is released. In case you have more than one node in the Velop network, it will be upgraded.
  • Now, you will be prompted when a new firmware release is available if you turn OFF Automatic Firmware Update. Simply tap on Update now to upgrade the firmware when this happens.
  • You should not unplug or restart the Velop system during the firmware Upgrade. Once the Velop is ready, you can wait until the light on the node is solid blue.

Upgrade using the LinksysSmartwifi.com

  • Firstly, open any compatible browser on a computer connected to Velop’s network. You can access the LinksysSmartwifi.com page using this.
  • Under the Router Settings click on Connectivity.
  • The Automatic box is checked by default to allow the automatic firmware upgrades whenever a new version is released. In case you have more than one node in the Velop network, each will be upgraded.
  • You will have to click the Check for Updates button in case the new firmware is available before upgrading the device if you disable this feature.
  • In case of a new firmware release, you will be prompted to do the same. Just tap on Upgrade whenever this happens. In case you have multiple network nodes, just click on the arrowhead alongside Details to know which node requires an immediate update.
  • Never Unplug or restart the Velop system during the Firmware upgrade. Just wait until the light on the node is solid blue. It will indicate that the Velop is upgraded and ready.
