As we all know every router comes with web-based setup page which allows you to do any kind of customized settings. You can also do the advance setup with this router admin page. As we all know router connectivity is not day to day task, it only required once you need to address network related problems or you want to change the network setup for example port forwarding or firmware updates.
Before accessing the admin page, make sure your router is powered ON and your Pc or Laptop is wired to Ethernet Port (port 1, port 2, port 3, and port 4 etc.). If you want to access the router as an Admin you will be requiring IP address of your router. In addition to this you will require administrative user password and username.
How to access your router page as an admin?
All the routers are designed in such a way that they have built-in setup page. With this web based setup page, you can customize the settings and all the advanced functions. To such settings follow the below written steps-
Step 1-
Initial step of this process is, Open the web browser for example “Internet Explorer”, Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox.
Step2-

If the IP of your router has been changed then you can type the IP address in the address bar of browser. IP address can be changed in such situation if you run setup CD of router or you change it on web-based setup page of the router.
Step3-
Now check the IP address of your router and then press the RESET button at the back of your router. You need to press the button for min.30 second with this your router will come on factory setting. In this condition IP of your router will be 192.168.1.1(based on your router); every router comes with administrative login information and authenticates it for access and admin settings of your router.
Step4-
Now check out for the new window prompts for a username and password. Once you are done with this type Admin for username and Password and click OK button. Each router comes with different default username and password for it. Many advance routers like Google WiFi does not require above discussed way of setup, they work on the mobile app. They are easier to access and customize.
What If you are still able to access your router admin?
If you are getting an error message even after putting username and password on the router that means your PC is not connected to the right router. To tackle such situation you need to follow the three steps-
- First try to reboot your router.
- Disable your existing Firewall for time being.
- Now try to RESET your Router on factory settings.
