How do i configure my Linksys RE9000 range extender with netgear WNDR3400 router?
- Turn On your Linksys extender
- connect your computer or smartphone with the Linksys extender’s network
- open your web browser and type this address:- 192.168.1.1
- it will take you to the extender’s setup page
- now follow the instructions on the screen and complete the setup process
- once the setup will be completed,then you can connect your wireless devices with the extender’s network
- Turn On your Linksys extender
- connect your computer or smartphone with the Linksys extender’s network
- open your web browser and type this address:- 192.168.1.1
- it will take you to the extender’s setup page
- now follow the instructions on the screen and complete the setup process
- once the setup will be completed,then you can connect your wireless devices with the extender’s network
if you want to configure the linksys extender with your old router
you need to plug in your extender near by to your router just for the initial setup
then connect any hard wire like etnernet wire from extender to any of your device like computer
then visit 192.168.1.1 to reach on the linksys setup page
you just need to find the old network and follow all the step one by one to get it configured
then choose any secure password to make it secure
Step 1:
Turn ON the Linksys RE9000 and wait for the light indicator to blink orange.
Step 2:
Using a Wi-Fi-capable device, look for Linksys Extender Setup in the list of available Wi-Fi and connect to it.
Step 3:
Once connected, launch a browser and enter "http://extender.linksys.com" .
Step 4:
On the page that opens, click on Start Setup.If the Linksys RE9000 has not detected a DHCP server, it defaults to its IP address, 192.168.1.1.
Step 5:
Select the Next button under the As a wireless range extender option.
Step 6:
By default, it will scan for an existing 5 GHz Wi-Fi and use it as a dedicated upstream connection for better performance. Connect to your existing 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
If you only have a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, scroll down and select the Choose 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band... option instead.
Step 7:
Enter the Network Password in the field and then click Next. The network password is also known as your Wi-Fi password.
Step 8:
On the window that opens, click Next. Leaving Band Steering ON is the recommended setting.
Step 9:
Determine the Linksys RE9000's best placement through the Spot Finder.
Step 10:
Change the admin password of your Linksys RE9000 then Save settings.
Step 11:
Register your Linksys RE9000 by entering your Email Address in the field. Click Next once done.
Step 12:
Connect your wireless device to the new Wi-Fi. The Next button will turn blue once the connection is successful.

First Reset your Linksys extender.Now connect your smart phone with extender's network.open 192.168.1.1 on your browser.from there follow the instructions to complete the set up process.save the settings and its all good to go.
Steps you need to follow:-
- Turn On your Linksys extender and Press and hold the reset button on your extender for at least 30 seconds and then release it.
- Connect your smartphone or computer with the Extender’s network
- Now open your browser and type this address:- 192.168.1.1
- It will take you to setup page of the extender page
- Now follow the instructions on the screen and complete the setup process
- Once your extender is configured after that you can connect your wireless devices with the extender’s network.
