How do i connect my older amped sr10000 extender with my new netgear router?
Plug in the Amped range extender near to the netgear router just for initial set up.Make sure to press the reset button if any changes are made before. Now connect any wireless devices with extender's wifi network and browse 192.168.1.240.Now click on scan for the list of wifi networks and select the one you want to extend.Then enter the password for the home wifi network.Next step will allow you to change the name and password of the extended network.Save the settings now and reboot the extender.Once the light on the extender is solid then you can connect the devices with the extender's network.
Step 1: Connect to REC10
Once plugging the REC10 to power outlet, it will be automatically turned on and you can easily find a new Wi-Fi network namedย Amped_REC10ย in the list. Click onย Connect.
Then, you will see a prompt asking do you want to set up the router. Select โNo, just connectโ.
Step 2: Access Dashboard
Open the newest version of your browserย and enter the following address :http://setup.ampedwireless.com. If there is any problem, try this address: http://192.168.1.240
If you still have problem connecting to the address, you can use an Ethernet cable to connect your PC directly to the Wi-Fi range extender and then try again.Here is the Dashboard you will see.
Step 3: Set up Extended Network
Click on Scan to start finding all available network to extend. You will see the list like below:
Select the network that you want to extend.
Enter the security key for your existing network and click on Next.
Enter the network ID and security key for your extended network. You can click on Clone Settings to use the same security key and a similar Network ID.
After that, you will need to wait about 2 minutes. The REC10 will be rebooted and you will be disconnected from the network.
Step 4: Connect to the new Extended Network
Now, you will need to reconnect to the new extend network. Then click on the checkbox โConfirm that you are now connected to your Extended Networkโ to finish.
The setup process for the Range Extender is now completed.
To setup amped SR10000 range extender follow these steps:-
>Plugin the amped range extender near to your Netgear router for the initial setup.
*If you made any change on the extender before, then reset the extender by pressing reset button for at least 30 seconds.
>Connect any one of your wireless or wired devices with the amped wireless network.
>Open any browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.240 or http://setup.ampedwireless.com
>Now you will see the SCAN button on the page, click on it and after that it will scan the wireless networks nearby to it.
>From the list select network that you want to extend and then enter the password for your home wifi.
>In the next step if you want you can change the name of extended network and password of your choice that you want for it or you can also clone the settings over there.
>Now save the settings and range extender will reboot after saving the settings.
>Once extender lights get solid connect your devices to the extended network and try to go online so that we can check that extender setup done successfully.
First of all , you need to reset your amped range extender as it is configured with your old router.
And to reset your extender, you need to Turn on the extender and then press and hold the reset button on your extender for at least 30ย seconds and then release it.Once your extender is reset properly then follow these steps:-
- Connect your smartphone or computer with the amped extenderโs network
- open your browser and type this address:- 192.168.1.240
- it will take you to the setup page of the extender and then click on the Scan Option
- Now it will search for available wifi networks ,select your Netgear Routerโs wifi network and then Hit Next
- Now it will ask for the Home security key which is your wifi password for your current wifi network so enter that same password and hit next
- Now Enter the information for your Extended network or you can click on the clone settings option also and then hit next
- After that it will save the settings and will take some time ,once the settings are saved then you can connect your wireless devices with the amped extenderโs network
To setup your old Amped range extender with new router follow these steps:-
- Plugin the amped range extender near to your home router for the initial setup.
*Now reset the extender by pressing reset button for at least 20 seconds. - Connect any of your wireless device with amped wireless network.
- Open any browser and in the address bar type 192.168.1.240 or http://setup.ampedwireless.com
- Now you will see the SCAN button on the page, click on it and after that it will scan the wireless networks nearby to it.
- From the list select network that you want to extend and then enter password for the same.
- In the next step if you want you can change the name of extended network and password of your choice that you want for it.
- Now save the settings and range extender will reboot after saving the settings.
- Once extender lights get solid connect your devices to the extended network and try to go online so that we can check that extender setup done successfully.
