how to upgrade the firmware of amped extender?

Plug in your extender near to your modem & press the reset key for 30 seconds. Go to your computer or phone and open browser and type 192.168.3.1 in the top url bar. It will ask for your login information (default username and password is admin for both). Then it will open setup page. Go to the administration settings and from there you can check weather new upgraded firmware option is available or not. If its available you can easily do the firmware upgrade form there.
