I recently purchased (within the last year) my linksys router and I am unable to connect to it.
router- linksys- wrt54g v8.2
- Turn On your Linksys router
- Connect an Ethernet cable between your modem and the Linksys router(make sure cable should be connected to the Internet port of the Linksys router)
- After that connect your computer with the Linksys router(using Ethernet cable or using Wi-Fi)
- Now open your web browser and type this IP address:- 192.168.1.1
- It will take you to the setup page
- Follow the instructions on the screen and complete the setup process.
plug in the extender into the wall socket and then plug the ethernet cable coming from the modem into the linksys and then with the other cable make a connection between a computer or laptop and the linksys
now open the browser and type the IP address into the long address bar of your browser, it will take you to the setup page
complete the instructions and then set up the wireless password and save the settings.
now your linksys is ready to work
TO SET UP YOUR LINKSYS ROUTER WRT54G V8.2 YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. PLUG IN YOUR ROUTER TO A WALL SOCKET.
2. CONNECT AN ETHERNET CABLE FROM YOUR MODEM TO INTERNET PORT OF YOUR ROUTER.
3. CONNECT ANOTHER ETHERNET CABLE FROM PORT NO-4 OF YOUR ROUTER TO YOUR COMPUTER.
4. OPEN RUN WINDOW AND TYPE CMD FOR ACCESSING LINKSYS ROUTER WRT54G V8.2.
5. THEN ON CMD WINDOW TYPE IPCONFIG IT WILL SHOW YOU NETWORK STATISTICS.
6. THEN OPEN A BROWSER AND TYPE DEFAULT GATEWAY IN ADDRESS BAR HIT ENTERS.
7. WHEN YOU WILL HIT ENTER KEY THERE WILL BE A PROMPT ASKING USERNAME AND PASSWORD.
8. DEFAULT USERNAME-admin PASSWORD-password.
9. IT WILL OPEN A SETUP WIZARD YOU JUST NEED TO FOLLOW STEPS AND LINKSYS ROUTER WRT54G V8.2 WILL BE CONNECTED TO NETWORK.
IF STILL PROBLEM PERSISTS YOU CAN RESET YOUR DEVICE.

This router is an old model so it does not work with smart wifi.
To setup-
-Connect the router with your modem .
-From modem to router wan port.
-Another cat5 cable from lan port of router to computer.
-These router also comes with a CD for setup wizard or you can simply check your router IP and open that IP in your browser.

To check your Router IP-
Press WINDOW key+Letter R on keyboard >
Run Command will prompt >
Type cmd then press OK>
In black screen type IPCONFIG Then press enter>
Check The default gateway.
-Open the IP in the browser and setup wizard will help you to set up the router .
