During the setup, if the light is flashing yellow or orange, it means either the extender setup is complete but the distance between the extender and the router is too far OR maybe the setup did not complete.
You need to reset the Linksys extender to the factory defaults and then try to reconfigure it.
If you are getting blinking yellow light on your extender, it means that extender is not connected to the router or there is any other error.
So try to connect your extender with the router and for that you need to follow some steps:-
> connect your computer with the extender's network
> then open your browser and type this address:- https://extender.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1
> now click on start button and then follow the instructions and complete the setup process
> once you see the stable green light it means, extender is configured.
But if you are still see the blinking yellow light, then reset your extender
and to reset your extender , press and hold the reset button for atleast 30 seconds and then release it.
and then reconfigure your extender again
If it still doesn't work then it means that there is a hardware issue in the extender. So you need to replace your extender.
Though there is always a yellow light there, however if its not showing on your devices list Try 30-30-30 reset :
1. With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds
2. Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds
3. Plug the unit back in STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds.
4. Now your extender should be showing on that list. ( connect it )
5. Now go ahead and type in your routers IP on any web browser
linksys IP (192.168.1.1)
username = admin
password = password
6 Follow the simple guide steps which will be redirected to you.
