How can we configure our RE6500 linksys extender?
In order to set up the Linksys RE6500 Range Extender you would need to follow the following steps:
Step 1
> First connect your computer wireless or wired to the range extender
> login to extender.linksys.com or type 192.168.1.1
> you will be directed to the setup wizard the default password is 'admin'.
> initiate the setup.
Step 2
> Press the WPS button on the router first for 3 seconds and then on the extender for 3 seconds once the light on the extender stops blinking the setup is complete.
>Turn On your Extender
>connect your computer with the Extender's wifi network
>open your browser and type this address:- https://extender.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1
>now click on start button
>and follow the instructions and complete the setup
or
we can configure it through the wps option and for that ,
press and hold the wps from your extender for atleast 3 seconds and within press and hold the wps from your main router for atleast 3 seconds.
and then wait for the extender to reboot.

>now click on start button

or

You need the follow these steps –
-Router should be powered up .
-Connect with the modem from Modem’s LAN port to router’s WAN port or internet port using a cat5.
-Open your browser type in there http://linksyssmartwifi.com or 192.168.1.1
-Login screen may appear so use the default login details.Check on the bottom of the router you can find details there.
-Setup wizard will be on your screen .
-Follow the steps and complete the setup.
