how to setup a extender?
For setting up extender , please follow these steps :
1. Connect your range extender to your computer with the help of Ethernet cable.
2. Connect your range extender to the power source. Make sure the LED lights are stable.
3. Launch your web browser(Google chrome or Mozilla firefox or whichever you are using ) and enter your router's IP Address or "192.168.1.1" in the Address bar.
4.On the screen you will get a window asking for a username and password. Leave the User Name blank and enter “admin” in the Password field and then, click Log In
5. Click on “Wireless” and then click on “Basic Wireless Settings”.
6. Set the radio button to Manual then enter your router’s Network Name (SSID).
7. On the Wireless Security section, select the security settings that match your router’s configuration. Enter your Passphrase or WEP Key then click Save Settings.
8. Unplug the power cables of the router and the range extender for 30 seconds. Plug in the router first. Wait for all the lights to be stable then plug in the range extender.
Your range extender should now be in synchronized with your router.
>Connect your computer or smartphone with the linksys extender's network.
>open the web browser and type this following address:- 192.168.1.1
>now linksys setup page will open
>click on start button
>extender will scan for the available networks, select your home network
>enter the wifi password
>now extender will save the settings and reboot itself
once the extender rebooted successfully,after that extender is ready to use.
To setup range extender follow these steps:-
>Plugin the range extender into the wall socket near to your home router for the initial setup.
*If you made any change on the extender before, then reset the extender by pressing reset button for at least 30 seconds.
>Connect any of your wireless device with Linksys extender wireless network.
>Now you will see the setup wizard in the page, follow the instructions to setup the range extender.
>If you want you can change the name of extended network and password of your choice that you want for it.
>Now save the settings and range extender will reboot after saving the settings.
>Once extender lights get solid connect your devices to the extended network and try to go online so that we can check that extender setup done successfully.
