plug in the extender into the wall socket and then plug the ethernet cable coming from the modem into the linksys and then with the other cable make a connection between a computer or laptop and the linksys
now open the browser and type the IP address into the long address bar of your browser, it will take you to the setup page
complete the instructions and then set up the wireless password and save the settings.
now your linksys is ready to work

TO SETUP YOUR LINKSYS wrt54gv1 YOU NEED TO FIRST PLUG THIS ROUTER TO WALL SOCKET(SURGE PROTECTOR OR EXTENSIONS WILL NOT WORK). CONNECT A CABLE FROM YOUR MODEM TO ROUTERS INTERNET PORT . CONNECT ANOTHER CABLE FROM PORT NO-4 TO YOUR COMPUTER. CHECK YOUR NETWORK STATISTICS BY DOING IPCONFIG.
OPEN A BROWSER AND TYPE DEFAULT GATEWAY IN ADDRESS BAR AND HIT ENTER IT WILL OPEN SETUP WIZARD FOR YOU .
