  • Follow the steps below to set up your range extender:
    Step 1: Using a computer or a mobile device, connect your device to the range extender’s default SSID, which is Linksys Extender Setup – xxx.

    Step 2: Open a web browser, then enter “http://extender.linksys.com” or “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar.

    Step 3: The As a wireless range extender option will be selected by default upon setting up. Click Next.

    Step 4: Select your Wi-Fi.

    Step 5: Enter your Wi-Fi password in the field, then click Next.

    Step 6: You will be prompted to configure the extended wireless network that the range extender will be broadcasting. Change the settings as you prefer or leave the defaults as is, then click Next.

    Step 8: Click Next if the Spot Finder indicates that the Linksys RE6300’s location is Just right. This feature determines the signal strength between your range extender and your router. If your range extender is Too far or Too close, relocate it accordingly, then return to Step 1.

    Step 9: Create an admin password to secure your Linksys RE6300. Optionally, you may also add a password hint.

    Step 10: Click Save.

    You should now have set up your Linksys RE6300.

  • Connect your computer to the Ethernet port of your range extender using an Ethernet cable.
    Plug your range extender to the power outlet. Make sure the LED lights are stable.
    Launch a web browser and enter your router’s IP Address or “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar. To learn how to check the IP Address of your Linksys router,
    You will be prompted with a window asking for a username and password. Leave the User Name blank and enter “admin” in the Password field and then, click Log In.
    Click Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings.
    Set the radio button to Manual then enter your router’s Network Name (SSID).
    On the Wireless Security section, select the security settings that match your router’s configuration. Enter your Passphrase or WEP Key then click Save Settings.
    Unplug the power cables of the router and the range extender for 30 seconds. Plug in the router first. Wait for all the lights to be stable then plug in the range extender.
    Your range extender should now be in synchronized with your router.
