This article will show you how to manually set up the Linksys Wi-Fi Range Extender.
Step 1:
Plug the Linksys RE6350 into a power outlet and wait for the light indicator to turn orange.
NOTE: Plug the range extender into a power outlet halfway between your router and the dead zone.
Step 2:
Connect to the range extender’s default WiFi name, Linksys Extender Setup, using a wireless computer or a tablet.
Step 3:
Enter “http://extender.linksys.com” or “192.168.1.1” in a supported browser’s Address bar and press [ENTER] to launch the setup.
Step 4:
Click the Manual Setup link.
Step 5:
Enter the default Password which is admin and click Login.
Step 6:
Configure your manual settings such as the Wireless Network Name (SSID) and password for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
Step 7:
Click Save to apply changes.
The extender will Reboot After The Changes Apply and Save The Settings.
Your Extender Is Setup Click Finish And Place It To Your Desired Location.
The Linksys extender should be plugged into a power outlet. Wait until the light is blinking orange before starting the setup process. Then follow the steps below to set up your range extender.
1. Using a computer or a mobile device, connect your device to the range extender’s default SSID, which is Linksys Extender Setup.
2. Open a web browser, then enter “http://extender.linksys.com” or “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar.
3. Click Start Setup.
4. The As a wireless range extender option will be selected by default upon setting up. Click Next.
5. Select your Wi-Fi.
6. Enter your Wi-Fi password in the field, then click Next.
7. You will be prompted to configure the extended wireless network that the range extender will be broadcasting. Change the settings as you prefer or leave the defaults as is, then click Next.
8. Click Next if the Spot Finder indicates that the Linksys extender’s location is Just right. This feature determines the signal strength between your range extender and your router. If your range extender is Too far or Too close, relocate it accordingly.
9. Create an admin password to secure your Linksys extender. Optionally, you may also add a password hint.
10. Click Save and you should now have set up your Linksys extender.
You can follow these steps to setup your Linksys RE7000 Range Extender:-
>Place the Linksys range extender nearby to your home router and power it on for the initial setup.
>Press the WPS button on your extender and hold it down for 3-5 seconds.
>Within the 1-minute press WPS button on your home router.
>Wait for the extender lights get stable and now try to connect any of your wireless devices with the extended network.
*If you want to connect your range extender with 5GHz network then repeat the same steps once again.
