  • #To setup your extender as an Access point kindly follow these steps:-
Connect your router with Extender using an Ethernet cable to available Ethernet ports of your Extender.
Use your Wi-Fi network manager on your wireless computer or any Wi-Fi device to connect to the network.
Once connected, the Device to Extender LED will turn to solid green.
Open your internet browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome.
Enter IP address in the address bar of your internet browser.
    Click NEW EXTENDER SETUP.
Complete the Extender Setup screen and click NEXT.
Click Access Point and the setup is now going to check for an internet connection
Set the network name (SSID), security option, and passphrase (network key). Click Next.
After applying the settings, connect your devices wired or wirelessly to extender new SSID and click Continue.

  • Firstly be sure you have the good WiFi connection the network name (SSID) and the WiFi password.
Then plug the extender in the wall and wait for the orange blinking light.
Now you need to have a long Ethernet wire to connect it from your router to the extender.Once you have connected make sure that the LED light on the extender is solid green.
Now you can use a computer or tablet and connect to the extender showing in wireless network list.
Now in the browser type the website extender.linksys.com and you will get the startup page.Click on Start Setup it show an option As Wired Range Extender(Access Point) and click next.
Note: If you haven’t connected an Ethernet cable from your range extender to your router or switch, it will prompt you to connect the cable and try again. Ensure that it is properly plugged in before proceeding to the next step.
Create the extended network that your extender will be broadcasting and click Next.
If you want to setup the WiFi using WEP in that case you have to do it manually from the beginning
Instead of Start setup you have to do the Manual setup.
Create an username, password to make extender secure and also put a password hint.
    Click Save.
You might be prompted to register your Linksys product to receive updates and other information to improve your experience. Enter your Email Address then click Next, or click Skip.
Your extender will now be connected in Access Point Mode.
