  • For the 5 GHz network, you can switch to either 20 MHz or 40 MHz for the Channel Width. For the 2.4 GHz network the available Channel Width is 20 MHz.

QUICK TIP: To avoid interference with other 2.4 GHz networks in your area, Channel Width should be set to 20 MHz Only for both.

    Step 5:
Click the drop-down arrow for Channel, then select your preferred channel. In the example below, the 2.4 GHz network is on Channel 6.

QUICK TIP: The recommended channels for the 2.4 GHz network are 1, 6, 9 and 11 since they are considered non-overlapping channels. For the 5 GHz network, channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 are recommended to less likely to encounter interference. For the Linksys Wi-Fi Routers, it is best to leave the channel to Auto if you are not experiencing any connectivity issues.

  • The best channel for your Linksys router is as follows:
    For the 2.4 GHz network: 01, 06, 11
    For the 5 GHz network: 44, 157, 161
