Before diving into this process, get your computer, modem, ethernet cable, and your router ready.

  • First and foremost, make a connection to your modem to confirm that you can browse the internet without connecting to your tplink extender.
  • Afterward, remove one end of the ethernet cable that you have used to secure the first connection. Remove it from the computer and the other end connected to the modem should still stay intact.
  • Then, the one end that you have unplugged, insert it into the WAN port of your tplink extender.
  • Subsequently, you need to insert a new ethernet cable into another WAN or LAN port on the extender
  • Now check on your extender and make sure that the power light indicator, WAN link, and Link/Act are on.
  • Afterward, locate the reset button on the extender and press it down for about 30 seconds.
  • Then reboot your computer.
  • Next, you have to check for the MAC address of your computer and note it down.
  • It is time to configure your tplink extender. Open the browser on your computer and load the login page through the default IP address
  • Automatically, te extender will get the IP address
  • Next, navigate to the “Advanced” tab and click it.
  • Then select “Mac Addr.Clone”
  • Subsequently, another page displayed before you, go ahead to input the MAC address that you have noted down earlier.
  • Select “Apply”
  • To round up your setup, next, you will shut down your tplink extender, modem, and computer
  • Afterward, hold on for about 30 seconds. Then you can first turn back on your modem
  • Lastly, after the lights on it stabilizes, turn on your extender and computer. Now you can use the internet.
