How do i connect my linksys re6500 extender with my computer?

Step 1: Connect the antennas to the device and the power adapter to a power outlet. Antennas should be positioned upright for best results.
Step 2: Place the range extender midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. Be sure you have at least 50% of
your router’s Wi-Fi signal at that point on the device you will use for setup.
Step 3: Wait for a solid light on the top panel of the range extender. It could take up to two (2) minutes.
Step 4: Connect your device to the range extender.
Wireless setup – Using a wireless computer or mobile device, connect to the range extender’s default SSID, Linksys
Extender Setup – You should be connected to this to start the setup of your range extender.
Step 5: Open a web browser on your computer, smartphone or tablet and access the RE6500’s web-based setup page by
entering http://extender.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1 in the Address bar.
Step 6: Click Start on the setup screen.
Step 7: On the License Agreement page, click I agree.
Step 8: Select your wireless network when prompted. If you have a dual-band network, you should see the SSID of both
bands. Click the Refresh icon to rescan for networks
Step 9: The Spot Finder page will appear. This feature determines the signal strength between your range extender and
your router. If your range extender is too far away, unplug and move it closer to your router and go back to Step 3.
Otherwise, click Connect anyway.
Step 10: Enter your wireless network’s password and then click Next.
Step 11: You will be prompted to configure your Extended Network. The Extended Network names are automatically
created for you with _Ext for your 2.4 GHz network and _5GHz_Ext for your 5 GHz network at the end of the SSID name. You can change the names of your Extended Network if you like. Click next when finished
There are two ways to connect linksys extender with your computer:-
1st one is, you can use one Ethernet cable that you can between your extender and the computer.
2nd option is, you can connect your computer wirelessly by finding wireless network of the extender in the wifi list. (if it is already configured with router then you will get option to enter security key for the network.)
In order to set up the RE6500 Range extender you would need to follow the following steps:
Step 1
> First connect your computer wireless or wired to the range extender
> login to extender.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1
> initiate the setup.
Step 2
> Press the WPS button on the router first for 3 seconds and then on the extender for 3 seconds once the light on the extender stops blinking the setup is complete.
