The Device That Is Compatible With 5ghz Should Only Be Connected To 5ghz and Which Is Also Near To Router Like Smart TV,Roku,IPhone,IPad.The Device That Is Compatible With %ghz Will Automatically Have Two Network with 2.4 ghz and 5ghz To Get Connected Otherwise Only 2.4ghz Network Will Appear.

You can connect any device to the 5 GHz which is compatible to the 5Ghz band. I would recommend you to connect any 4k devices like your smart Tv, blu ray players, Roku, firestick with the 5 GHz band for better appearance and streaming.
