  • Step 1:
    Access the router’s web-based setup page.
    Step 2:
    click on Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings, locate Wireless Channel then make your changes through the drop-down menu.
    Step 3:
    For the 5 GHz network you can switch to either 20 MHz or 40 MHz for the Channel Width. For the 2.4 GHz network the available Channel Width is 20 MHz.

    QUICK TIP: To avoid interference with other 2.4 GHz networks in your area, Channel Width should be set to 20 MHz Only for both.The recommended channels for the 2.4 GHz network are 1, 6, 9 and 11 since they are considered non-overlapping channels. For the 5 GHz network, channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 are recommended to less likely encounter interference. For the Linksys Wi-Fi Routers, it is best to leave the channel to Auto if you are not experiencing any connectivity issues.
