Hi , i have a Netgear Router R6250 , although its connected to my computer wirelessly still it says , You are not connected to the router the only thing i want is to uipgrade the firmaware. Its not letting me do it.
Please help me fixing this issue. thansk,.
Follow these steps:
- Open your browser on your computer
- type this address:- 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net
- it will take you to the login page of the router
- enter the login information(default username-admin and password-password)
- once you are logged in, then go to the advanced tab>administration> firmware upgrade
- if still, you are not able to login into the router settings then, restart your Netgear router and then try it again.

If router is connected to the computer with wifi and still says not connected , then first we need to goto the router admin page . For that open 192.168.1.1 OR routerlogin.net on the browser. Once you see the login page , enter the credentials (User name : admin ,, password is password). After you are logged in , goto the advanced tab , then administration , firmware upgrade . Make sure that we have the latest version of firmware updated there , if not then download the latest firmware. This could help you to fix the problem. If still the problem persists , then try restarting the router and try it again.

To Access the Router Page You need to follow these steps:-
1. Press windows + R key that will open run window for you.
2. Type CMD in the run box.
3. Open Ipconfig and check network statistics.
4. Open your default gateway in any browser.
5. Type your user name and password and You are good to go now.
6. For router firmware upgrade you can upgrade on router access page itself.

For netgear router you need to check that you are connected wirelessly or hard wire .Once you get connected try using Routerlogin.net. If that doesn’t work try IP-192.168.1.1 Default IP for Netgear Login. Still getting problem then try downloading Netgear genie it will solve your upgrade issue.
You Can Try To Reset The Router By Inserting the paperclip into the reset hole of the router while power is on.
