Yes you can but you need to place your extender atleast 30 feets away from your router .
Yes you can keep the same name for you extender as your router,, however you may face connectivity issue and you may get confused among the extended and the primary network.
We would recommend you to keep a different name for the extender . However you can keep the same password.
