hOW DO I GET THE CHROMCAST ICON ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN?

You can not get an icon for chromecast on the desktop. Simple open google chrome(the only browser supported) and go to setting. You can find it in the top right corner. Click on it and you can find an option for the cast.

There is no Legit app for chromecast for computers so far, how ever you can access your chrome cast from google chrome by pressing on cast under Customize google chrome options
