  • – Use different power socket.
    – Disconnect the ethernet cable if connected to your Range Extender.
    – Reset the range extender by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds.
    – Try manual setup rather than WPS.
    – Connect to its open wireless network.
    – Make sure you are not connected to any other network when trying the manual setup.
    – Now open your browser and visit https://192.168.1.1
    – Start the setup.
    – After completing the setup do check for the firmware update for both router and extender.

  • In this case you can try these methods-
    >Unplug your range extender from the wall socket and plug it a little near to your router.
    >Reset it by pressing reset button for 10 to 15 seconds.
    >Plug Ethernet cable in between the range extender and your PC for the setup instead of WPS method.
    >Upgrade firmware of your range extender at the time of setup if it’s showing that firmware update is available.
    >Sometimes it could be a hardware issue due to the damage in the hardware of the range extender so in this condition you need to replace it with new one.

  • If your extender keep getting disconnected from the WIFI Please follow the instructions below to fix it:
    > Reset the extender by pressing the reset button on the extender using a paper clip for 30 seconds
    > Wait for extender to come up a with a solid power light
    > make sure there should not be any cables connected the extender
    > connect your computer to teh linksys extender setup default SSID
    “> pull up a browser and on the top on the address bar type in 192.168.1.1 and hit enter
    > you will get to the setup page start and complete the setup
    > Look for a firmware upgrade if there is one
    > try to use the extender now.
    Note: make sure the distance between your extender and router should not exceed more than 25 feets.
