To reset your Tp link wr642g Router there are two ways :-
Method 1- Grab a paper clip and look for the reset button which you can find on the rear panel of your router just next to power adapter input. now you need to press the reset button with paper clip for almost 7-10 seconds while its plugged in to a wall socket. when you will press reset button you will notice change in pattern of lights blinking on the front. all lights will be off for a while except power light.
2. On your computer, launch a web browser. In the address field of your browser, enter
Default gateway of your computer. A login screen displays..Type admin for the user name and type password for password If you have not yet personalized your password.now go to maintenance then go to back up settings there you will find revert to factory default settings, click erase button and confirm the action.

Took a paper clip and insert it on the back of it in the reset pin hole and while doing so make sure all the cables are removed from your router except the power cable.
Hold it their for atleast 15-20 seconds and unplug your router nad plug that back again after 30 seconds .
Your router is reseted now.
Using paperclip press the reset button on the router for 10 seconds and the router will be to factory default settings.
In order to reset the Tplink router , try to do the following steps:
> First try to reset the router again, Press and hold the reset button down for 30 seconds
> Wait for at least 2 minutes the let the router boot up and then try to configure the router again manually
> if still the router is not working
> press and hold the reset button down for 30 seconds.
> While holding the reset button unplug the router from the power and keep holding the reset button, wait for 30 seconds
> plug in the router back to the power while holding the reset button and wait for 30 seconds and then release the reset button
> wait for at least 5 minutes, once you see a solid power light and a solid wifi light reconfigure the router and it should work.
