  • To setup parental controls on Netgear R 9000 kindly follow these steps:-
    first you need to make sure that your device should be connected to the above mentioned router.then follow these steps:-
    1. Press windows + R key that will open run window for you.
    2. Type CMD in the run box.
    3. Open Ipconfig and check network statistics.
    4. Open your default gateway in any browser.
    5. Type your user name and password .
    6. now you are on router main page with all settings options.
    7. now Go to Parental Controls Then Parental Controls window will appear. Click Next to proceed
    with the setup.
    8.The Setting up Live Parental Controls screen displays. Select Yes if you have an OpenDNS
    account. If you do not have one, click No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account.Click Next.
    9.Select the filtering level and click Next. and setup the parental controls as per your choice.
    So by following these steps you can enable parental control of your Netgear R9000 router easily.

    1. Login to Dashboard and select Parental control.
    2.Hit next and select No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account.
    3.Create An open DNS account.
    4.Choose the filtering level.
    5.You will be redirected to https://netgear.opendns.com. Click Add a bypass account.
    6.You need to install the NETGEAR genie on each computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android device that you want to use the Bypass account.
    7.Now set filtering level for bypass account.
    8.Now you can add time, device, websites for blocking access.

  • In Order to setup Parental controls on your Router please follow the instructions below:

    >Connect your computer to the router wireless or via ethernet cable
    > pull up a browser and at the very top on the address bar type in 192.168.1.1
    > you will get a login screen the default username : admin and the password: password
    > you will be logged in into your netgear Genie Dashboard
    > Click on Parental Control
    > The Parental Controls window will appear.
    > The Setting up Live Parental Controls screen displays.
    > Select Yes if you have an OpenDNS account.
    > If you do not have one, click No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account.
    > you can set the parameters as you want save the settings and its done.
