AS You have mentioned that you have lost all photos while working with windows pc kindly try these steps:-
1. unmount your sd card and re try one more time.
2. Restart your computer once.
3. change the card reader and check one more time.
4. Try to use the same card with a different computer.
If problem still persists there are various softwares available to recover the data.
