HOW DO I RESET THE USERNAME & PASSWORD?

To reset the user name and password you need to reset your Netgear R 6300 with the help of paper clip. you just need to insert paper clip in the reset hole of your router for at least 20-30 second it will be reseted to factory default version then you need to re setup your router.
To Re setup the router You need to plug in a cable from your existing modem to internet port of your router.
after connecting this cable connect a cable from port no-4 of your router to your computer. then follow these steps:
1. Press windows + R key that will open run window for you.
2. Type CMD in the run box.
3. Open Ipconfig and check network statistics.
4. Open your default gateway in any browser.
5. Type your user name and password .
6. that will open a setup wizard for you so follow the steps and you are good to go.
7. while following the setup wizard kindly make sure the settings you are choosing is correct
i.e time zone and wireless network name and key.
8. kindly upgrade the router firmware as well if there is any update pending over there.

:-To reset your router find the tiny reset button usually located at the back of the router.
:-While the router is on, use a pin or the end of a paper clip to press and hold the reset button. You will need to hold if for about 10 seconds.
:-. Connect the Internet cable from your modem to the yellow Internet port on your router.
:-Wait until the power light on the front of the router is solid.
:-.Connect your computer to router
:-. Open a web browser and follow the instructions to complete yourrouter’s setup.
:- If instructions do not appear in the web browser, enter 192.168.1.1 in the browser’s address bar.
:-. At the end of setup, follow the on-screen instructions to set up your router.

To Reset the username and the password for your router follow the following Steps :
This Can be done in two steps -:
> Step 1
1> At the back of the router you will see a reset pin hole , Get a paper clip to reset the router. You would need to press and hold the rest button down for at least 30 seconds, Once you see the router light turned to blinking amber release the button and wait.
2> Now your router will boot up could take a minute or two. wait untill light turns solid Green.
3> Connect a Ethernet cable from the router to the computer from port number 4 on the router .
4> on you windows computer press and hold the windows key and letter R together, A run window will appear, type in CMD and hit OK. you will see a Command Promt window came a black window.
5> Type in IPCONFIG and hit Enter on the keyboard. you will see windows Ip configurations, you will see Ethernet adapter Ethernet look for Default gateway. you will see some numbers starting with 192.168 or 10.0… , write down that number.
6> Pull up a browser maybe Google Chrome, Internet Explore or any other.
7> Put in the default gateway address on the address bar at the top of the address bar and hit enter.
8> This will direct you to the setup page and set up a new username and the password.

> Step 2
1> when you do several wrong attempt on the username and password on the router login page. It take you to a screen where it asks you for the router serial Number.
2> At the back of the router you will see a label that would have a serial number.
3> please enter the serial number on the screen the same way it is on the label at the back of the router (If Capital Letter should be capital and if lower case should be entered in lower case.
4> That will ask you for 2 security questions , mention in the right answer if you remember and hit continue, this will show you the current username and password.
5> Use it login to the router and then go into Advance setting of the router and then click on the administrations and then click on Set Password and here you can change the password and save the settings.
