- Log in to the web management page of the linksys router. This can be done either via the default gateway http://myrouter.local or using the IP address.
- Input the router’s local admin password and click Sign In.
- Under the router settings, Choose the Connectivity option.
- On the Basic tab besides Router Password, click Edit.
- Enter the new router password hint in the field given for the same.
- To save the changes made, click Apply to save changes.
- When the confirmation prompt appears, click Yes and then on OK.
