How to upgrade the firmware of netgear router wndr4500 and netgear wn3000rp extender?
In order to update the firmware for your Netgear router WNDR 4500 please follow the instructions below:
Make sure the router is powered on and connected to the computer wirelessly or via Ethernet Cable. Pull up a browser and at the top of the address bar type in 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 you will get to the login screen and at the top on the address bar type in Username : admin and password: password. Once logged in you will see the dashboard of your netgear router. On the top you will see a message that says there is a new update available click on it and hit yes and the router will then reboot and the update is done.
To upgrade the firmware of netgear router wndr4500 and netgear wn3000rp extender follow these steps :-
Connect the computer with router’s network .
Open any browser and type this address 192.168.1.1 OR routerlogin.net
You will see the setup wizard on the screen
Enter username or password
After you are logged in go to advanced tab and then administration .
Click on firmware upgrade and then upgrade it .

Now in order to update the firmware of the extender, you need to connect your computer with the extender's network
- once you are connected, then go to the browser and type this address:- 192.168.1.250 or http://mywifiext.net
- once you are logged in, from there you can update the firmware of your extender
