How do i update the firmware of my Netgear EX6400 Extender?
You will need to first go to the router dashboard and go t0ย DHCP client list or connected devices and look for the Netgear extender copy the IP address thats assigned by the router to the extender. Pull up a new tab and at the top of the address bar type in the copied IP address and hit enter you should be directed to the login screen for your NetGear the default username is โadminโ and the password is โpasswordโ. once you are logged in click on advance setting got to firmware upgrade and click on it and click on check it will check and tell you if there is a new update or not.
- for that, we need to login into the extender's settings and for that we need to get the Ip address of the extender by login into the main router settings
- once we get the Ip address, Type that Ip address in your browser and then it will take us to the Netgear extender's page
- from the left-hand side, click on the firmware upgrade and then we can update the firmware of the extender

To update the firmware of my Netgear EX6400 Extender , first we will have to download the latest firmware and save it in the computer . To download the latest firmware of EX6400 goto the link

and then download the latest firmware then you will have to unzip the file by doing right click and select extract. Now the computer should be connected to extender's network and then open 192.168.1.1 on the browser . Enter the credentials to log in. After you are successfully logged in , then goto the settings , select firmware update >> click on browse and select the unzipped file that you have saved on the computer. Now click on upload . Once it's uploaded extender will be rebooted . Once you see the solid green light on the extender, log in again. It's all done.
