How to connect Linksys extender with the residential gateway router using the wps method?
For that, you need to plug your extender near the Residential Gateway Router
and then press and hold the WPS button on your extender for 3 seconds and then release it and after that press and hold the WPS button on your Netgear router for 3 seconds and then release it and after that, you need to wait for the light to get solid on the extender. Once the light is solid on the extender, it means the extender is configured.
To connect Linksys Re6400 to your router, first plugin the extender into the wall socket near to your router for the initial setup and wait till the extender gets fully powered on.
Now press and hold the WPS button on the router for atleast 10 seconds and then within 1 minute press and hold the WPS button on the extender for 5 seconds.
now the WIFI lights on the extender will get solid .
Now connect any laptop or other wireless device with the extender network and then open the browser.
In the long address bar type the IP address (192.168.1.1) it will take you to the extender page over there you can put up the security password and save the settings after that.

Just plug in the extender to the wall socket. Then wait for 10 seconds. When the light gets stable press WPS key for 3 seconds and then within one-minute press WPS key on the router. When the light gets stable this means it is connected.
