How do I change the WiFi name and password for ASUS RT-AC86U?

To change the password of the ASUS RT-AC86U

To need to login in your asus router page with the help of ip address 192.168.1.1

Then type your username and password (default username and password is 'admin' )

On this page Choose the Wireless menu under Advanced Settings on the left hand side.

Under the SSID you need to put your username that you want for the asus router wifi's

And under WPA Pre-Shared Key type the password that you want for your wifi

then in the bottom of this page click on apply to change the settings

Follow the below mentioned steps in order to change the wifi name and password of your asus RT-AC86U router:

1. Connect any one of your wireless or wired devices to ASUS router's network.
2. Open any of the web browser and at the long address bar type http://192.168.1.1 or you can also try http://router.asus.com
3. Type your admin username and password to login into the router's configurations page.
4. On the dashboard's left hand side under advanced settings choose wireless option
5. Under network name(SSID) put the name that you want for your asus router's wifi
6. And under WPA Pre-Shared Key type the password that you want for your wifi.
7. Then at the end click Apply so that router will be able to apply the changes in the settings.

Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.1.1

Log into the browser-based utility.

The default username is "admin" and the default password is "admin".

Choose the Wireless menu under Advanced Settings on the left hand side.

You are now on the Wireless-General page.

Network Name (SSID): This is the name you give your network

WPA Pre-Shared Key: This is the WiFi password.

When you are finished click the Apply button at the bottom of the page.
