I am connected to the extender but I cannot access the website to see my settings
For that connect Extender to the wall socket and press reset key for 30 seconds. Make sure it is close to the modem(maximum distance not more then 10 feet) Go to your computer or phone and open browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the top url bar. It will ask for your login information (default username and password is admin for both). Then it will open setup page. Just follow the instructions and your extender will get connect to the internet.
If our Extender is already configured with the router then we will not be able to login into the Linksys extender's settings using this address:- https://extender.linksys.com , we can access the settings only through the ip address(which is assigned by the router)
So ,we have to check the ip address of the linksys extender in the router settings and then by typing that ip address on the browser ,we will able to check the extender's settings.
If the extender is working and you are still not able to get to the website please follow the instructions below:
- Please connect your computer to the router Wireless or via ethernet cable
- Press the Windows Key +R, You will get a Run Window
- Type in "NCPA.CPL" and hit Ok
- You will get to the network Connection screen
- Right Click on the adapter through which the computer is connected to the router
- Click on Status and then click on Details
- Look for the IPv4 Default gateway IP address and copy it
- Pull up a browser type that Ip address on the top on the address bar on the top
- You will get to the dashboard of the router
- Log in using your default username and password
- Look for the client list or the connected devices
- Look for the extender name and copy its IP address.
- Copy that Ip address and then enter that on the top on the address bar in a new tab
- You will get to the login screen of the Extender enter your default username and Password which is suppose to be "admin"
- And here we are at the login screen.
