Blinking amber means its not connected with router or other error.
Blinking green means its starting up.

Blinking Amber means extender is not connected to the router or other error
Blinking Green means extender is starting up or upgrading firmware or resetting to factory defaults

Basically the LED in YELLOW (orange) means the wireless connection between the extender and the router is GOOD (better than POOR (red) and worse than OPTIMUM (green), it is just an indicator of the connetion quality.
