  • Connect your router to your modem.
Connect any devices you want to hard wire with CAT 5 (or better) Ethernet cables.
Connect at least one computer via Ethernet.
Go to the website(www.linksysmartwifi.com) or https://192.168.1.1
Log in with the username and password provided by the router or you can also create the smartwifi account.

  • Step 1: Connect your router to your modem and laptop
Plug one Ethernet cable into your modem, and the other end into your router’s WAN port. Then plug another Ethernet cable into a LAN port, using it to connect your laptop. With that done, you can now plug your router’s power adapter into the wall.

Step 2: Find the configuration page
This is basically a website hosted on your router(www.linksyssmartwifi.com) and it’s the best way to configure your router’s settings. How to find it can vary, but it almost always means typing “192.168.1.1” into the address bar of your preferred browser, then hitting “Enter.”

Step 3: Create a username and password, or find the existing one
you’ll be asked to create an administrator username and password. Make sure this password is unique and secure, because anyone who has it can do all kinds of nasty things to your network.
Assuming you’ve managed to connect to your router’s admin page, you’re ready to configure your wireless settings.
Step 4: Set up your wireless network.
The settings here can be overwhelming, but let’s get to the thing you’re likely looking for: Wi-Fi. On most routers, there will be a section devoted to this. Sometimes it’s called “Wireless.
SSID.” This allows you to choose a name for your wireless network. Try to pick something unique, so it doesn’t overlap with your neighbor’s wireless network.
Next, we need to set up the security settings. Use WPA2 security — anything else makes it too easy for hackers to access your network. Make sure you choose a long password, too, one that is distinct from the admin password you set earlier and ideally doesn’t include words from the dictionary or an easily guessed name.
    And you’re off!
With these steps out of the way, your router should be ready to use. Go ahead and connect your devices, and enjoy!

  • In order to set up your Linksys EA8300, You can use a computer or a mobile device and connect your device to the router’s Wi-FI network. After that Open any internet browser and enter the default IP address of the router i.e “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar. A setup page will pop up on the screen. You need to follow all the steps in order to configure your Linksys router. once the set up is complete you can try connecting your other devices to it.
