plug in the extender into the wall socket at least 10 feet away from the router for the setup
press and hold the WPS button on the router first for 10 seconds and then on the extender for 5 seconds and wait till the lights get solid and then you can move the extender to the different location.

IN ORDER TO SET UP THE LINKSYS RE6300 RANGE EXTENDER WE HAVE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS WHICH ARE AS UNDER PLACE YOUR RANGE EXTENDER NEAR TO THE ROUTERย FOR THE SET UP
PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE EXTENDER FOR 5 SECONDS AND THE PRESS THE AFTER 1ย MINUTES PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE ROUTER
WHEN THE LIGHT ON THE EXTENDER BECOME STABLE THEN TRY TO CONNECT THE WIRELESS DEVICES WITH THE EXTENDER
HENCE YOU CAN ABLE TO SETUP THE RANGE EXTENDER

For new Linksys RE6300 Extender.
Just press the WPS on your router/modem first for 1-2 seconds, then press the WPS on Linksys RE6300 Extender for 3-5 seconds.
Now wait for 2 minutes.
The difference in light color and pattern will confirm its connection.
For Used/ old Linksys RE6300 Extender : If its an used Linksys RE6300 Extender then first reset it using a paper clip to press the reset button in a tiny hole for 30 seconds.
Now its brand new, or by default one.
Wait for 2 minutes after reset then proceed further as setup New Linksys RE6300 Extender.
Its now extending your home network with same password as of your home wifi.
Note:
1. During setup, make sure that the Linksys RE6300 Extender is placed within 7-10 feet from Router, at the time of setup, or in the same room.
2. Two minutes patience is the Critical Time that make the difference between success and failure in Setup.

For initial setup you first need to connect the extender to the computer with an Ethernet cable.
Than when you see the extender in the WiFi network list on your devices.
Then open a web browser like google chrome and type the URL in the address bar extender.linksys.com or the IP address 192.168.1.1 .
It will show you linksys extender setup page from where you can click on start setup.
Follow the steps given in setup page and it will be connected.
Once you have setup the extender you can move it to any location you want.

You can follow these steps to setup your Linksys RE6300 Range Extender:-
>Place the Linksys range extender nearby to your home router and power it on for the initial setup.
>Press the WPS button on your extender and hold it down for 3-5 seconds.
>Within the 1-minute press WPS button on your home router.
>Wait for the extender lights get stable and now try to connect any of your wireless devices with the extended network.
*If you want to connect your range extender with 5GHz network then repeat the same steps once again.
In order to setup the RE6300 Range extender you would need to follow the following steps:

> First connect your computer wireless or wired to the range extender
> login to extender.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1
> initiate the setup.
