The difference between an access point and a range extender is:
> The range extender extends the signals of your existing router wirelessly but the access point extends the signals using an ethernet cable between the router
> The extender can be assigned with a static Ip but an Access point cannot be assigned with a static IP
> A range extender can be an access point but an access point cannot be a wireless extender
