Hi, Setting up a password for the Belkin wifi is not at all difficult . all you need to make sure is that the computer is connected to the Belkin router either hardwired with a Ethernet cable or wireless to the open network.
then pull up a browser and at the top on the address bar type in 192.168.2.1 and hit enter this will bring up the dashboard of your Belkin router on the bottom right side you will see the wireless settings.
click on the wireless settings and then you will see the SSID or the network name where you can change the name of the WIFI if you want to or else right under it you will see the security option the mode will be WPA2 AES and then you can enter the new password on it and then save the settings. once its done try an disconnect the computer to the name and the password and make sure not to keep exactly the same name for both 2.4 and 5GHz band wifi name it has to be diffrent something like XYZ and XYZ_5G.
Thank you
