  • Plug your range extender into a power outlet. Wait until the light starts blinking orange.
    Connect an ethernet cable from the router to your range extender and wait until the LED turns green.
    Connect a wireless computer or a mobile device to the range extender’s default SSID
    Open a web browser, then enter “http://extender.linksys.com” in the Address bar.
    Click start setup
    Select the As a wired range extender (Access point) option, then click Next.
    Create the extended network that the range extender will be broadcasting, then click Next.
    Create an admin password to secure your range extender, then click Save. You may also add a password hint.
    Your range extender is now set up in Access Point mode.

  • In order to make your extender re6400 work as an access point please follow the following steps:
    > first plug in the extender near to the modem or to the router using a Ethernet cord wait until you see a green light on the extender .
    > Then on your computer got to the available WiFi list and connect it to the default name of your extender
    > Pull up a browser and logon to https://www.extender.linksys.com
    > you will get to the setup page choose use as an Access Point and select a username and password and the setup is complete

  • To set up Linksys RE6400 to work as an access point kindly follow these steps:-
    1. connect your extender in a direct wall socket near by your router for setup.
    2. connect ethernet cable from your router to extender.
    3.Connect a wireless computer or a mobile device to the range extender’s default SSID.
    4.Open a web browser, then enter “http://extender.linksys.com” in the Address bar.
    5.Click start setup
    6.Select the As a wired range extender (Access point) option, then click Next.
    7.Create the extended network that the range extender will be broadcasting, then click Next.
    8.Create an admin password to secure your range extender, then click Save.
