• 1.Open the NETGEAR genie app
  2.Click Parental Controls.
  3.The Parental Controls window will appear. Click Next to proceed with the setup.
  4.The Setting up Live Parental Controls screen displays. Select Yes if you have an OpenDNS account.
  5.Click Next.
  6.Complete the OpenDNS information for your account and click Next.
  7.Select the filtering level and click Next.
  8.On the NETGEAR genie Status window, click Change Custom Settings.
  9.You will be redirected to https://netgear.opendns.com. Click Add a bypass account.
  10.Create the username and password for your bypass account, then click Add account.
  11.Next is to edit the filtering level of your bypass account.
  12.Click Add a time block
  13.Go back to your NETGEAR genie Status window and click on Bypass Login.
  14.Double-click the bypass account.
  15.Enter the password. Click Login.
  16.Once successfully logged in, you can now access the internet without any restriction.

• You need to login into your router first –
  1.On router dashboard look for Parental control and tap on it.
  2.Hit next and select No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account.
  3.Create An open DNS account .
  4.Choose the filtering level .
  5.You will be redirected to https://netgear.opendns.com. Click Add a bypass account.
  6.You need to install the NETGEAR genie on each computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android device that you want to use the Bypass account.
  7.Now set filtering level for bypass account.
  8.Now you can add time ,device ,websites for blocking access .

• To enable live parental control on your Netgear R8000 router kindly follow these steps:-
  1. Press windows + R key that will open run window for you.
  2. Type CMD in the run box.
  3. Open Ipconfig and check network statistics.
  4. Open your default gateway in any browser.
  5. Type your user name and password . (Default user name – admin password-password).
  6. It will open router main page then Click Parental Controls.
  7.The Setting up Live Parental Controls screen displays.
  Select Yes if you have an OpenDNS account.If you do not have one, click No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account.
  8.Complete the OpenDNS information for your account and click Next.
  9.Select the filtering level and click Next and then click Change Custom Settings.
