I really apologize to say that your brother hl-2240 printer can not be configured as wireless device because it doesnt have the wireless capability in it. However you can configure your brother printer with usb cable setup.
TO CONNECT YOUR BROTHER HL-2240 PRINTER WITH YOUR COMPUTER WITH USB CABLE :-
1. TURN ON YOUR PRINTER AND WAIT FOR FEW SECONDS.
2. CONNECT USB CABLE FROM YOUR PRINTER TO COMPUTER.
3. IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME AS IT WILL CHECK UPDATES AND DRIVERS AUTOMATICALLY.
4. WAIT FOR SOME TIME UNTIL YOU SEE THE PROMPT YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY
INSTALLED .
5. JUST ADD THE PRINTER AND DOWNLOAD THE SPECIFIC DRIVERS FROM OFFICIAL BROTHER
WEBSITE AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO NOW.

This printer doesn’t have wireless capability but you can use it through ethernet cable
:-Connect the ethernet cable between your router and printer
:-Go to your computer
:-Use any internet browser
:-Download software driver for your printer
:-Go through the setup
:-When prompted choose wired
:-Once its installed you can print from multiple devices.
