- Plug the linksys range extender into an electrical outlet. The light will start blinking orange.
- Using an ethernet cable, connect the router and the range extender.
- Connect a wifi cable device with the default SSID of the range extender.
- Open any compatible web browser now.
- Input the default gateway http://extender.linksys.com or the default IP address in the address bar of the browser. Press enter now.
- Click on the Start setup button when the setup wizard page appears.
- Click NEXT under the ‘As a wired range extender (Access Point) option.
- Create your own wifi names for both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.
- You can create the admin password for the range extender and click Save.
- You can register the Linksys product now.
- The setup is finished now.
