just set up a new extender and everything is fine. Just need to know how to register it. the screen timed out while I was repositioning the extender.

You have used wrong address to open the extender page , please use http://www.mywifiext.net to open the extender page.
You can also follow this guide to set it up again –
IF YOUR ROUTER SUPPORTS WPS ,YOU CAN FOLLOW THESE STEPS –
1.PRESS AND HOLD THE WPS BUTTON ON YOUR ROUTER FOR THREE SECONDS AND THEN YOU WILL SEE A LIGHT BLINKING.
2.THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE WPS ON YOUR EXTENDER AND YOU WILL SEE A LIGHT BLINKING THERE ASWELL.
3.NOW YOU WILL SEE THE STABLE POWER LIGHT ON YOUR EXTENDER.
4.SOLID GREEN MEANS ITS SETUP AND YOU CAN CONNECT YOUR DEVICES.
5.THE PASSWORD FOR EXTENDERS WIFI WILL BE SAME AS YOUR ROUTER.
TO CONNECT YOUR NETGEAR EXTENDER YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. CONNECT YOUR EXTENDER IN A DIRECT WALL SOCKET.
2.CONNECT A ETHERNET CABLE FROM YOUR ROUTER TO EXTENDER.
3.LOGIN TO THE WEB USER INTERFACE OF YOUR NETGEAR WIFI EXTENDER USING http://myWiFiext.net.
4.IT WILL ASK FOR USER NAME AND PASSWORD WHICH IS admin and password.
5. IT WILL OPEN A SETUP WIZARD FOR YOU.
6.FOLLOW THE STEPS OF WIZARD AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO NOW.
(IF PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS YOU CAN RESET YOUR DEVICE.)

To access your netgear extender you need to login on http://www.mywifiext.net not http://www.routerlogin.net.
Netgear Extender Setup-
-Connect Your extender in wall socket .
-Once you see extender wireless name on your device just connect to it.
-Open your browser and type http://myywifiext.net or 192.168.1.250 /192.168.1.254
-Setup wizard will ask you to create an account.
-Wizard will help you to setup your extender.
To access extender login page:
Login to the web user interface of your NETGEAR WiFi Extender using http://myWiFiext.net.
You will be prompted to enter a username and password.
Default login credentials are:
Username: admin
Password: password
Note: Username and password are case sensitive.
Walk through the setup wizard to setup your connection to your Access Point. (Do not use WPS when reconnecting to the Access Point)
Reconnect your Wi-Fi devices to your NETGEAR WiFi Extender using either the WPS button or manual connection.
There are several ways to connect your netgear extender i.e ethernet cable method ,wps method and many more but i am sharing wps method here for wps method you need to follow these steps:-
1. connect your extender in a direct wall socket near by your router for setup.
2. press wps button on your extender for 3-5 seconds.
3. press wps button on your router (you can do it by accessing router main page also).
4. it will be connected to your routers network.
5. you will see your network name with ext affixed in it.
6. connect to the same network .
7. it will open a setup wizard for you.
8. follow the on screen instructions and you are good to go now.
9. you can Login to the web user interface of your netgear WiFi Extender using
http://myWiFiext.net but the device should be connected to extender network.
(if problem still persists you can reset your device.)
