Connect the antennas to the router and plug in the router to a power source. To power on the router, switch on the power supply.
The next step is, connect the internet cable to the router. There is a yellow internet port at the back of the router, connect the cable from the modem to that port of the router. Wait for few minutes or until power indicator on your router becomes solid.
A Quick Start Guide came with your router. You will see secure wireless name of your router in this Quick Start Guide. Connect to the router by using this secure wireless name. It can be changed later. Select the option to automatically connect to this network in the future. Once you complete router setup, you will have internet access.
For the Linksys Wi-Fi router setup instructions, open a web browser and if you do not see the instructions then type www.linksyssmartwifi.com in the location bar.
Follow all the on-screen instructions and fill all the required fields asked in the instructions until you reach at the end of the process.
After the setup is done, create Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account by following the instructions seen on the screen. Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is used to manage the router’s settings such as:

after waiting a long time on hold a tech support guy came on and we did a few tests to see why my computer did not connect to the extender. I was told he needed to take remote control and see what the problem was. After a quick look he said my computer was corrupted and needed to be fixed. After talking to his supervisior he said he could fix it for a fee of $110. I asked why I couldn't take it to a repair shop and was assured that wouldnt help. Funny I was connected to a modem while I was talking to him. When I said I needed to think, he hung up. Go figure. A different tech helped me connect and everything is working now. Just be aware that there are people like this everywhere even though the second tech swore they never charge for service.
