  • To Upgrade the firmware of your Netgear Nighthawk R7000 You need to follow these steps:

    1. press windows key + r it will open run window for you.
    2. Type CMD in run box.
    3. Then type ipconfig .
    4. It will give you network statistics.
    5. after checking your default gateway you need to open a browser.
    6. in address bar of your browser type your default gateway and hit enter key.
    7. A new prompt will ask for your username and password.
    8. Give it your user name and password.(Default User name-admin password-password).
    9. now you are on router main page there on the top you will see new firmware updates.
    10 click on that option it will upgrade the firmware as well as reboot the router.

  • 1) Launch any web browser from your computer or WiFi device that is connected to the network.

    2) Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.

    3) Enter the router user name as “admin” and password as “password”

    4) Select ADVANCED > Administration.
    Click the Firmware Update or Router Update button.

    5) Click the Check button.

    6) Click the Yes button.

    7) The router downloads the firmware and begins the update.

  • For Upgrading the firmware you need a hardwired from the netgear router .Basically you can do it wirelessly also but i would suggest to use hardwired .

    Once you are connected from router open your browser and type http://routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1
    You need to login into your router by using login details .Check on bottom of your router .Default details are ‘Username-admin and Password-password’.
    You will see Genie page and on the top you will see new firmware upgrade .If its located there you can click on it and you can proceed with update .

    NOTE- While upgrade is in process do not remove any cable from router or computer and never turn off your router otherwise it may result in corrupt firmware which can stop your router from working .
